Aaron didn't appear during breakfast and even though the table was full with Jimmy and his family, and Love and her Dad, it seemed to Jenny like there was a gaping hole in the room.
As they were clearing the dishes from the table Jenny posed the nonchalant, she thought, question, "Has Aaron already eaten?"
Love responded with an apologetic look then replied quickly, "He left really early, said he wanted to get a look at the big lakes north of here."
Jenny's stomach tightened with such force it made her feel sick. For a second she was afraid she might lose her breakfast. Love watched her with an empathetic smile. Jenny simply nodded and put the dirty dishes she was holding down on the counter. They landed with a clatter.
