Halloween fell on Saturday this year, which always made for the most fun possible. Kids were out of school and able to attend whatever festivities they desired and go trick-or-treating until as late as they desired, because there was no school in the morning. Most adults had the weekend free, so their parties tended to be more boisterous than a weekday Halloween party. Plus, they had all day to decorate and get their costumes in order.
That's what Eve was doing. It was just before noon on Saturday and she was getting ready to go to Belinda's house and help her decorate for the big Halloween blast. The day was a perfect Halloween day, overcast and windy with the hint of a storm brewing, exactly what you would expect to conjure up some trouble.
