11 It had been stupid to leave the house without a coat. Eve knew that now. Not only that, but her purse and her phone sat on the small table in her foyer where she'd put them after Chip fell through the door. She'd been in such a frenzy of worry she hadn't thought anything through, just ran outside looking for Hazel and Sabrina. She'd hoped to find them exploring in the wooded area behind her house, or maybe frolicking with other cats in her neighbor's yards, or maybe even on a wild adventure in Sander's Park whose entrance was just four blocks from her house.
