9 “I still don't understand why you're upset," Jimmy said, his words thinning as he lifted into the air away from her. He was swinging on the tire swing with Jenny pushing him. He'd insisted, citing many moments in their shared childhood when he'd pushed her even when he was suffering from heartbreak or romantic anxiety. "I don't like people meddling in my life," she answered.
