I ran after mom as she got into the car.
"Mom… mom, hold on please, let's talk about this", I pleaded, but she ignored me and turned on the ignition. I got into the car quickly, and tried to talk to her. She ignored me throughout the ride and I felt extremely guilty.
She didn't drive directly to the house. Instead, she stopped me at Carter's.
"Get out", I could tell from her tone that she was struggling to stay calm. As much as I didn't want to infuriate her further, I just couldn't leave. I didn't want her to drive home, angry with me.
