I woke up, tired and weak. I looked around my surroundings, trying to figure out where I was. I groaned when I realized I was in a hospital. I tried to remember what happened, but nothing came to mind.
"You're awake". I looked in the direction of the voice and noticed the nurse, changing my drip.
"Yeah…" my voice came out dry and croaky. "how.. did.. I … get .. here", my throat hurts with each word. I had to put extra effort to get the words out.
"Mr Stone brought you here", she replied. I tried to sit up, but my head felt heavier than my body. I couldn't even get it off the bed. She noticed my effort to sit upright and shook her head in disapproval. "You need to rest, ma'am. You don't need to sit up, allow your body to recover", she told me.
