I will never reject you

Fever.

I am awake…it's still night, my fever is really high, I feel like I am inside a cloud. Philip looks worried. He is saying something…I can't understand! I see him coming and going but can't concentrate on what he is doing. He is back, he is taking me into his arms. Where is he taking me? I am being submerged into a bathtub filled with cold water.

I immediately became more alert!

" I am sorry, I...I thought I was getting better."

" Don't apologize baby… you'll be fine, my mother is coming to help."

He is holding my hand, trying to reassure me.

" Ok."

I close my eyes.

" My head hurts so much…"

" Hold on baby."

His mother burst into the bathroom.

" Good thinking son, have you taken her temperature."

" No, but she is boiling."

Philip stepped aside and she leaned over and took my temperature.

" It's very high."

" Her head hurts...she said her head hurts."

He sounded panicked.

" It's from the separation anxiety son, I am going to give her a pill for the fever and a stronger sedative. Leave her in the tub for ten more minutes. I'll be back with the sedative. "

The next thing I remember is receiving a shot on my arm.

The next morning I woke up in his arms.

"How are you feeling baby?

"Like I've been mauled by a bear."

I reply frustrated.

"I'm sorry baby, at least you are not burning anymore."

I nod. He gave me a soft kiss on the forehead and got up.

"Unfortunately I have a very busy day ahead of me and I can't stay to look after you. My mother and a nurse will be here soon."

He went straight into the shower, while I buried my nose into his pillow. f**k I need him so badly. Moments later he returned all dressed up and ready to start his day.

"I have a lot of meetings today so I don't know when I'll be able to come see you but I want you to get a good rest and get better. I have to go now, my mother and a nurse are on the way."

He said while coming close to me, I feel weak so I don't even attempt to get up. He bent down and kissed me on the lips."

Mmm I moaned while cupping both his cheeks with my hands. He pulled away slightly looking deep into my eyes.

"Don't do that to me baby."

I smile cheekily.

"What? I am not doing anything."

He leaned in and kissed my neck and whispered in my ear

"Soon."

"Soon?"

I questioned, he gave me a wide smile and looked at me as if he owned me.

Soon after Philip left his mother accompanied by a nurse and a maid carrying a tray arrived.

"How are you feeling today Sofia?"

She started examining me

"Better."

I murmured annoyed that my body has been letting me down lately, all I want is to be with Philip. I keep worrying he might go on patrol.

"You still have a bit of fever, how's your head?"

"Actually much better, I am still disconnected, but at least the headache has subsided."

"I think the sedative I gave you last night helped. I suggest you eat your breakfast now, I will give you one more dose and by the time you wake up this afternoon you will be back to normal."

I don't like the idea of sleeping all day but if it means I will get better faster, I will do it.

I don't know how long I've been out for, it could have been days for all I know. I feel dazed. I finally manage to open my eyes letting out a loud groan. Mia the young nurse is sitting on a chair next to me, she gives me a sweet smile. I smiled back, a knock on the door broke the silence.

"Who is it?"

Inquired Mia, no answer. Another more intense knock came, I tried to lift myself up but I am still quite weak from the sedative that hadn't left my system completely yet.

"Hello?"

Said Mia, it sounded more like a question rather than inquiry. She got up and headed for the door. As soon as she turned the handle someone pushed the door abruptly hitting Mia on the face causing her to take a step backwards. I looked as a figure quickly emerged and snapped Mias neck letting her body drop to the floor. I am horrified as I recognise him, his smug smile and green eyes full of evil intentions.
