I woke up the next morning to the smell of bacon. Mmmmm bacon. I got up and put on my undergarments. I grabbed my sweat pants and my tank top before going downstairs to the source. I go into the kitchen to see Kira making bacon. "Good morning Kiki, you're up too early." I said and grabbed some bacon. She chuckled. "Good morning Alesia." She said and while she finished cooking breakfast, Gabriel walked in and sat with me on the counter while I drew in my notebook. Went up the stairs to freshen up. After that we left for the training grounds. I know it seems like it was like 10 in the morning but it was only 4:45. We walked slowly so when we got to the training grounds it was 5:25. The same ten people were there on time. "Well I guess the others don't learn." I said a chuckled evilly. I trained my little group and by 10 they were perfect little killers. Then the others came.
"Ok, today you will take turns battling with Gabriel. So let's see what you know because obviously you don’t need my training so let’s begin.” I said, smiling evilly. After they battled, not a single person lasted thirty seconds.
"Exactly so get up and run. Tomorrow if you guys are on time you'll learn how to fight as good as him." I said and they began running.
I turned to the ten people who were on time.
"I will divide them into ten groups. You all will take one group and train them." I said and they nodded. I trained the late people showing them no mercy. It was fun watching them suffer. The next day came and I divided the groups and let them train.
“I want 8 wolves patrolling the borders with me tonight.” I spoke looking at Austin
“Why? What for? Are you not exhausted from training the pack? I think you should rest from the pack borders for a little while.”
“It’s my responsibility as Alpha and also I want to let my wolf out, she’s desperate.”
I was scanning over paperwork that a pack member had asked me to review, he had proposed a business deal and wanted to know if I would be interested in investing. My mind could barely focus, I had been working for the past seven hours straight with no break.
It was then that my office door creaked open, kiki wrapped tightly in a blanket as she walked towards me. "Not tired Alesia?"
"No, I have to finish this today." I replied, her eyes looking down at the mess that occupied my desk.
“But you must be hungry. Can I fix you something to eat?” She asked. I nodded excitedly, whispering thank you to her and continued to work.
My phone buzzed and I quickly replied to all the unread messages, they had piled up over the last few days.
I had been ignoring the piles of work, text messages and phone calls that I needed to make, I wanted to spend time with my mate which was why it had managed to build up so much.
I had also noticed that we were having more rogue captures lately, they had been attempting to cross our borders but were stopped by border patrol wolves before they could get too far in.
A few had managed to escape but tractors had caught onto their scent and would remember it if they tried again.
It was beginning to worry me, the safety of my pack and territory were paramount. I couldn't ignore the threat that the young rogue had mentioned that a rogue Alpha had made it his mission to destroy all packs, with mine being next.
I had arranged more border patrols, and as long as my pack members stayed within a few miles of the border they would be safe to roam freely. They could continue their daily runs. The leader of the rogue pack Marcus had his mate killed by an Alpha, he had sworn after the discovery of his mate's attack that he would take revenge against all Alphas, wanting them to feel the pain and anguish that he felt. He had been with his mate for over five years and she was over two months pregnant. When your soul mate dies, half of your soul dies. They shared a part of you, that would never be replaced by someone else. The loss of a mate was the most excruciating thing that a werewolf could go through. Some turn to madness while others manage to control their beast, having to hide them away, to never be let out. Only the strongest of wolves could find peace within themselves after losing their mate.
I wasn't about to allow him to do that to me and my family, to my pack. I had organised more patrols and more training, even wolves who hadn't shifted yet were learning more combat, to be able to protect themselves.
I was just looking through my plans for another extension on the pack house when Kira walked in with a tray and I immediately began to create space for it. I was deadpan starving. I began to munch and forgot to thank her which earned a chuckle as she walked out.
Within half an hour, I had managed to finish up everything. Maybe all I needed was food to think straight.
I walked into my bedroom, heading straight for the bathroom to have a quick shower and to brush my teeth.
I was about to exit the shower when I suddenly felt tense, an uneasy feeling flowed through my body. My wolf pacing around my mind, anxious and concerned about the dangerous vibes that our body was experiencing.
I jumped out of the shower, throwing on a pair of shorts before racing into Gabriel’s room to find him asleep.
Once my wolf acknowledged our nephew was safe, I immediately mind linked Damon but received no reply. “The kids!!” I screamed
I immediately called through the pack mind link, commanding warriors, and my Beta Austin to attend my house instantly, while ordering others to search the territory.
Within minutes they had arrived, two wolves were to stay behind with Walter to guard over Gabriel and the pack as the rest of us went in search of Damon and the children.
With the threats of rogues and a deranged Alpha lurking in the woods, I was afraid that the children could have been taken, attacked, or even killed if I didn't find them in time.
