When the car finally comes to a stop, we have been driving for at least three hours. I must have fallen asleep in the car because when the car finally jerks to a stop, I jerk awake. I groan softly as I yawn and rub my eyes. I look around at the surroundings outside and realize that we are a long way from the mansion we were once in. “Nigel… Where are we?”
Nigel doesn’t respond right away. Instead, he climbs out of the driver’s side of the car and moves around to my door. He pulls it open and holds a hand out to help me climb out of the SUV as I take in the surroundings. “This is the safehouse.”
