They were both glued to each other, he held onto her like a father embracing his long lost son. Few seconds later, Blackmoor freed Lana from his grip. With his hand still placed on her shoulder, he began to declare assuring words of comfort. Lana nodded her head in accordance, as she used her hand to wipe her tears away. Caldwell, who stood far from where they were, remained still and silent. He slowly stepped backward and said nothing, it's beginning to seem as though his alpha was becoming weak. Few hours had passed, Blackmoor was all alone in his office arranging some documents when Caldwell knocked on the door. “Come in, the door is open” Blackmoor said as he replied to Caldwell's knock Caldwell opened the door and still remained mute, he said nothing as he slowly turned around to shut the door behind him. “Oh Caldwell, welcome!” Blackmoor said with so much enthusiasm Caldwell immediately wore a faint smile as a reply to Blackmoor's greetings. He walked up to Dominic's desk, pulled back the chair in front of him and sat on it. His face was dull, his mood dictated contempt. Caldwell sought to pour out his emotions and his thoughts, but he didn't want it to be seen as though he was heading to an extreme. A part of him knew Blackmoor might be harboring feelings for Lana, but then again what if he's wrong. He gave a very big sigh as his gaze remained fixed on Blackmoor, who had not thought of blinking for even a split second. “Our victim really seems to be going through alot” Caldwell spoke out in a deep and resounding voice But Blackmoor knew Caldwell had never for once showed care or pity for her, so he knew this conversation was heading somewhere else. He keep mute and listened as he allowed Caldwell to keep talking “I mean her mother died at a very young age, leaving her father subjected to drug abuse, her broken father who soon died as well. An orphan struggling in the mean streets of New York City” after Caldwell had said this, Blackmoor didn't need a magician to tell him that Caldwell was eavesdropping on their conversation. But inasmuch as he already knew where Caldwell was heading to, he still remained silent and said nothing. He kept listening to Caldwell's mutterings. “I mean, indeed it will be unfair to sacrifice such poor little girl that has already been through alot. Don't you think so too?” Caldwell asked with a mischievous smile across his face Blackmoor sighed heavily, and he extends his weight evenly on his seat. He then started nodding his head gradually. “So how much did you hear?” Blackmoor asked in a faint but yet firm deep voice “Nothing much, not like you both were screaming at the top of your voice though” Blackmoor at this point didn't know what to say, he could hardly find his voice. But after a few seconds of nothing but deep silent an constant eye contact, Blackmoor finally found his voice. “Caldwell!...” Blackmoor called out as though Caldwell was far away from him “...the fact is this, Lana has been chosen for the sacrifice. And that…that is not about to change” Blackmoor said Immediately Blackmoor was done talking, the grip of his gaze on Caldwell became stronger, signaling him to leave immediately. Caldwell on the other hand quickly got the signal, he pulled his chair backwards and exited Blackmoor's office. Blackmoor at this point didn't really know what to feel, he was again sunk in thoughts of confusion. He sat quietly in his office, contemplating on what Caldwell said. Meanwhile, Lana had spent so much time in the library so she decided to take a walk around the house. She moved from one pillar to the next, admiring every single carvings on the wall as she gently caressed her hands upon the fine sketches. She moved around freely, a foreign but yet uneasy feeling. For the first time in a long time Lana felt freedom and deep relaxation. A house which once stalked and hunted her thoughts, is now a bed of joy and comfort. She then moves gently towards a window that has a perfect position for a perfect view of outside the mansion. It's been a while since Lana laid eyes on what the outside view looked like. For as she took a peek through the window, she witnessed the wholesome beauty of Blackmoor's Prestigious Mansion as it stretched towards the horizon. As the wind blew, it gently caresses the long lawn to and fro. The fresh air that descended from the heavens upon the lowly vicinity was so thick that you'll feel a hold of it in your palm as it smooches your skin. She solemnly used her eyes to ravenously feast on the beauty of te entire surrounding. She was suddenly startled by the sudden sound of Blackmoor's voice. “When I couldn't find you in the library, I could easily guess this will be the next place you might be” Blackmoor said as he drew closer to where Lana was, and stood barely two deets away beside her. Lana was so carried away in the moment, that she didn't notice the disturbing closeness of Blackmoor as he stood behind her. “It's beautiful, it's breath taking” Lana said with a voice of awe and reverence Immediately Blackmoor thought to himself and said “How will you like a walk around the garden” At this point, Lana was totally blown. She was expecting alot of words from Blackmoor but this was the least of her expectations. She had always seen herself as a prisoner, like a caged bird, she felt her feet's were shackled and her wings were clipped. But this was far beyond her expectations, she couldn't even piece up the right words to reply Blackmoor's statement. “Yo…you want me to take a walk outside the Mansion?” She asked again just for the sake of clarity Blackmoor who as well knew that everything he was saying sounded foreign to Lana, smiled mild. At this point Lana had turned around the see these words come out of Blackmoor's mouth so she'll know she wasn't just hearing things. Blackmoor used this to his advantage, he gently placed his both hands on her shoulder, smiled at her and said “Ofcause, what could possibly go wrong” With the rate at which everything was going, Lana was becoming a bit uncomfortable with this new Blackmoor. The level of kindness that he was emitting was just so abnormal, and totally unlike Blackmoor. But for Lana she didn't think much of it, she thought it's best she enjoys it while it last. The first and only time she ever drew closer to that door was when she was stepping it the Mansion for her interview. For the second time in a long time, she saw this mighty doors as they stood before her. To Blackmoor, he just permitted her to take a walk around the garden. But for Lana it meant so much more. For Lana, this was freedom in disguise
