Chapter 9

I wake up not realizing where I am. As I look around I realize that I am in a hospital and Brandon next to me. As the memories of last night go through my head I began to cry. Brandon hugs me as I lay in his arms.

Brandon: It's fine I'm here and he is never going to touch you again.

Me: where is he? How long have I've been in here?

Brandon: The cops are still looking for him and you've been in the hospital since last night. You fell asleep and your grandparents came. We all took you to the hospital to make sure everything is fine. They ran some test and we should be out of here in a couple of minutes. How are you feeling?

Me: I'm still sore but a little bit better.

Brandon: Well that's good in a way

Me: Yeah, so about yesterday you called me your girlfriend

Brandon: Oh so you heard that and yes I did call you my girlfriend. I liked you ever since you joined karate and always wanted to ask you but now that you seem to be a little better, Joanna will you be my girlfriend?

Me: Yes, Brandon

Brandon hugs me tighter and kisses me on the forehead. At this moment I feel that I am more protected.

Brandon: The cops told your grandparents they think it's safe that you stay with me and my family because he probably knows where you live.

Me: Ok, I guess that's fine. What about my grandparents?

Brandon: They are fine they said you shouldn't worry and they will come to visit you as much as they can.

As me and Brandon continue to talk a doctor comes in and gives me my results. I came back negative for STDs and now I can head home. As we arrive at Brandon's home I am welcomed with hugs and kisses.

Brandon's mom: Mija, how do you feel? Are you ok?

Me: Yes, I am fine I feel much better. Brandon told me everything and I just wanna thank you all for letting me stay here until everything goes back to normal.

Jose: No problem and we will all try to make everything feel comfortable for you.

Melody: And if you ever need anything just let me know and I will go get it for you.

Me: Thanks, Mel. Thank you all very much. I think I'm going to go get my self settled then.

Brandon walks me to the back of the house where the rest of the rooms are and I am surprised to see all my stuff in his room.

Me: Your parents are ok with me sleeping in your room? I mean I don't have a problem with it but I mean your parents.

Brandon: They're ok with it. I've even made some space for you to keep your stuff at.

Me: Brandon you didn't have to do that. I would've been ok with getting my stuff in and out of my suitcase.

Brandon: No it's fine really, I did it because I want to and you are the only one I really care about right now.

I walk over to Brandon and give him a Kiss on the cheek and a tight hug.

Me: Thank you for everything

Brandon: Stop saying thank you, ok. You are part of the family now. Even though we are not married yet.

Me: I don't know if we are going to be together that long.

Brandon: Well I hope so

Me: Me too

I continue to unpack my stuff with Brandon's help. Then get ready for dinner. We had rice, beans, and chicken. We all said good night and headed for bed. As I enter Brandon's room, he's already in bed and is waiting for me. As I get in the bed, Brandon wraps his arm around me and snuggles me tight.

Brandon: You are safe now remember.

Me: I know I am safe now, good night Brandon

Brandon: Good night
