Five: Ancient ProtectorsThe earth began to tremble once more, but it was not the trembling of a felled tree, for it never ceased and what followed was even more magnificent. A thunderous battle cry followed by blaring horns and then suddenly horse and cavalrymen emerged from the darkness screaming in fury. The Draugr had little time to react. The fearless four-legged beasts ran down their foes trampling on them without mercy, without hesitation as the beasts fell bloodied and crushed beneath hoof. Their courageous riders thrusted spears and swung axes cutting wildly at any piece of flesh they could catch in their wake. The dark mist moved closer towards Jadis and the boy when a sky filled with arrows began to cut through the moving darkness.
