The boy allowed the cart to pass by and decided it was best to follow behind just off the road. Like a crafty fox, Hakon darted between trees and rocks until he reached just a stone's throw away from the path. The cart was still in view and the boy gave chase hoping that their destination was not far off. If he walked into a small village he may have to explain himself and perhaps deal with the town's leader who may not be so empathetic to a stranger wandering his town without paying tribute. On the other hand, if it were a large merchant town Hakon could easily blend in and perhaps even find some food and shelter. Time passed slowly and Hakon's weary legs were beginning to give out as he desperately continued to follow the cart from a distance. He had not had water for most of Sol's journ
