“Morning, ma’am. I’ll look after the little princess.” A woman stepped forward quickly, offering a polite smile. “I’m Nina Clement, one of the staff members in this company.”
I hesitated for a second before glancing down at Ariel, knowing a boardroom was no place for a child, no matter how much I wanted her close. Sensing my worry, Ethan gave a subtle signal to one of his men near the door. He nodded immediately and stepped forward to keep watch. That small gesture alone told me everything, I wasn’t the only one being protected here.
I crouched in front of Ariel and brushed a strand of hair from her face. “Okay, baby. Be good for me, alright?”
