She woke, eyes taking in everything through blurry vision. The machines began to beep wildly as she realised that she was in a hospital room, Xavier rushing in out of panic once he heard her machines go off.
"You're awake" he said, gathering her into his arms as she hugged him back, her father coming inside along with a very subdued Ryan.
"Yes I'm awake" Serena said with a small smile, the memories of Eleanor and their possible future still fresh in her mind.
Without ceremony she began to rip out her drips, Xavier protesting loudly as she ignored him in her haste to get up and moving.
"What are you doing" Xavier exclaimed angrily "you should wait for the doctor to take them out Serena."
She looked at him pointedly, her wounds already slowly healing as he gave an exaggerated sigh.
