The sun was setting by the time Danny led the way to Nessa’s study and knocked. He almost felt sorry for his mother—she was not going to be at all happy with the way things turned out. She opened the door, and hid her surprise well at seeing the two of them together. “Come in, Danny. Evan, I’m glad you’re here as well. There are some matters I need to discuss with you.”
Danny and Evan filed in and sat down in the two leather chairs. She took her usual place behind the desk.
