Chapter 3
COME BY AFTER YOU FINISH classes for the day. Ruby’s message came through on my cell phone as I walked to the car.
Just finished, I typed back. You okay for me to come now? I can be there in 20 mins.
Yay. I’ll put on some lunch. See you soon.
I laughed to myself as I climbed into my little red beetle and turned the key. I was tempted to ask her what sort of lunch she had planned. Was Ruby going to make some sandwiches? Or would I get there to see her wave her hands around and magic up a feast?
I didn’t mind either way, though it would be interesting to see what the wolf shifters allowed. Would she be able to do magic within the pack’s walls?
I drove away from classes and toward my house, but instead of following the highway into town, I made a left toward the pack’s land.
