My mouth dropped open. “What?” Impossible. Surely I would have known. “He can’t be.”
Ruby stared at me, then crossed her arms over her chest. “Why not? Found another soul mate recently?”
“No! But...”
“But what?”
I didn’t have an answer, because there was no answer that would have satisfied Ruby. I hadn’t met anyone I’d thought was the one for me. Including the man I’d just met.
