Chapter 8- Trapped

1394 Words
Scarlett shoved through the crowded cabin blindly, her chest heaving while music pounded violently through the walls around her. Everything felt too loud. Too hot. Too much. Her heart still raced from what she’d just seen outside. Will’s hands gripping Priscilla’s ass beneath the bubbling water. Priscilla straddling him and grinding against his d**k. Their mouths locked together while Scarlett stood frozen in shock. What shattered Scarlett wasn’t just the cheating. It was the fact Will looked completely consumed by it. Like nothing else existed except the girl in his lap. Too lost in the moment to realize Scarlett stood there watching her entire relationship break apart in front of her. The memory hit Scarlett so hard she nearly stumbled into somebody carrying beer through the hallway. “Sorry,” she muttered automatically. But her voice sounded strange. Weak. The floor beneath her feet shifted suddenly. Scarlett grabbed the wall hard. A dizzy wave crashed through her so violently her stomach rolled. What the hell? She squeezed her eyes shut briefly. Maybe she was having a panic attack. That had to be it. Because none of this felt real anymore. Her limbs felt heavy. Her heartbeat slow and uneven. Her thoughts struggling to stay connected. And she’d barely had anything tonight except soda. Fear prickled sharply beneath her skin. Behind her, muffled through music and shouting— She heard Will calling her name somewhere. “Scarlett!” “Scarlett—baby wait!” Will nearly tripped climbing out of the hot tub while Priscilla cursed behind him. “Please don’t leave like this—I’m sorry, okay? I f****d up, just let me explain!” Another voice laughed. Then silence again. Scarlett pushed herself away from the wall, desperate to find somewhere quiet before she completely lost it in front of everyone. The hallway stretched strangely around her now. Longer somehow. Blurred at the edges. Her body bumped against the wall again while nausea churned harder in her stomach. “Oh my god…” Something was wrong. Really wrong. Scarlett reached the first bedroom door she saw and shoved it open clumsily. Empty. Relief nearly made her cry. She stumbled inside quickly before shutting the door behind her and collapsing onto the edge of the bed. The mattress dipped beneath her weight. The room spun slowly around her. Her pulse thundered painfully inside her skull now. Think. Think. Had she eaten enough today? Was this stress? Was she sick? Scarlett pressed shaking fingers against her forehead trying desperately to steady herself. But every second felt worse. Her arms felt numb. Her legs weak. Her eyelids suddenly impossibly heavy. Panic started clawing its way up her throat. “No no no…” The bedroom door suddenly clicked open. Scarlett’s head jerked upward. Blaine stood in the doorway. Two other football players stepped inside behind him before quietly shutting the door. And instantly— Every instinct inside Scarlett screamed. Blaine smiled casually. Too casually. “There you are.” The words sent immediate dread crawling down Scarlett’s spine. Blaine moved toward her slowly, like a predator approaching wounded prey. Eyes dragging slowly over her slumped figure on the bed in a way that made her stomach lurch. The two football players behind him stayed silent. Watching. Blocking the exit. Scarlett’s pulse started hammering harder. “I’m fine,” she said quickly, trying to push herself upright. “I just needed a minute and then I’m gonna—” The room tilted violently the second she stood. Her knees buckled beneath her instantly. Blaine caught her before she hit the floor, strong hands gripping tightly around her waist. “There we go,” he murmured softly. “Easy.” Scarlett tried pulling away immediately, panic rising sharp and fast inside her chest. “Don’t touch me.” But her words came out weak. Slurred. Blaine looked down at her with something dark behind his smile now. “I saw what happened outside with Carter,” he said quietly while helping her backward toward the bed again. “That was f****d up.” Scarlett shook her head weakly. “I just wanna be alone.” “I know,” Blaine said smoothly. “And I’m just trying to make you feel better.” The way he said it made her stomach twist harder. Predatory. Like he’d been waiting for this moment all night. “You looked so upset,” he continued softly. “Running through the cabin crying while your boyfriend’s outside with another girl?” Scarlett’s vision blurred. “Please…” Blaine now stood right in front of her on the bed. Too close. “You deserve better than that,” he murmured while brushing hair away from her damp face. “A girl like you shouldn’t have to beg for attention.” Scarlett jerked away weakly. “I said leave me alone.” Blaine smiled again. But this time it looked cruel. “You know what I think?” he asked quietly. “I think Carter’s too stupid to appreciate what he has.” His eyes moved over her slowly making Scarlett feel exposed instantly. “I think you’ve spent way too long begging boys like Carter to notice you,” Blaine said quietly. “Maybe it’s time a real man finally showed you some attention.” Fear exploded violently through Scarlett’s chest. Panic flooded her throat. Something was horribly wrong. She tried moving away but her body wouldn’t listen anymore. Blaine eased her backward onto the mattress slowly while towering over her. “Please stop,” Scarlett whispered shakily. “I don’t feel good…” Scarlett tried scrambling backward across the mattress immediately, panic exploding through every inch of her body now. “No—get away from me!” But her limbs barely worked. The drug made everything feel slow and heavy, like her body no longer belonged to her. Blaine grabbed her ankle before she could move farther, yanking her back toward him hard enough to make her gasp. “Stop fighting me,” he snapped. Scarlett kicked wildly anyway, tears streaming down her face while terror clawed violently up her throat. “Please!” she cried. “Please just leave me alone!” Blaine’s expression darkened instantly. In one rough movement, he grabbed both her wrists and slammed them above her head against the mattress. Scarlett gasped sharply in pain as his body pinned her down completely. Too heavy. Too strong. Her legs thrashed beneath him desperately while panic consumed her whole. The room spun harder around her. Her vision blurred. Her heartbeat pounded so fiercely she thought she might pass out from fear alone. SLAP! “Stop moving!,” Blaine hissed, tightening his grip around her wrists painfully. Scarlett shook her head frantically beneath him, cheek stinging from him slapping her in the face, tears soaking into the mattress beneath her hair. “I don’t want this,” she sobbed weakly. “Please—please don’t do this—” Blaine leaned down closer, breathing hard now, his face twisted with irritation when she kept struggling. “You’d be a lot prettier if you'd just shut the f**k up and behave like a good girl.” Fear turned ice cold inside Scarlett’s chest. Blaine started unzipping her jacket with his free hand, exposing her breasts. he leans down and starts kissing down her neck. The two guys near the door still hadn’t moved. Hadn’t helped. Just stood there watching while she fought underneath Blaine trying desperately not to black out. Scarlett twisted violently again in one last desperate attempt to get free. Blaine cursed angrily before forcing her wrists harder into the mattress. Pressing his bulge in between her legs holding her down with his weight. “I said behave.” Scarlett cried out softly, body trembling uncontrollably now as the heaviness of the drug dragged harder at her consciousness. Everything felt blurry. Distant. Wrong. And through the terror flooding her mind, one devastating thought kept repeating over and over again. Dean warned you. Scarlett squeezed her eyes shut desperately. She should’ve listened. Should’ve stayed home. Should’ve never come here at all. Her body started going numb beneath the drug now. The room blurred darker around the edges. The sounds distant. And just before unconsciousness fully dragged her under— The bedroom door exploded open like death itself had finally arrived.
