Huu. I exhaled, the air turning white before my eyes.
"If there's nothing else, we would take our leave," I thundered, tugging on our entwined arms. I walked away, a pattering of footsteps followed after me.
"How do you do that?" a breathy voice asked. I eyed her from the corner of my eyes, cheeks flushed, eyes sparkling with an unusual vitality—
She looked different? Somehow? But I shoved the question away, instead answering her.
"Do what?" I slowed my pace, while she slowed down from her trot to a walk. As we walked side by side, her shoulder occasionally touched my elbow.
"Like… make all of them listen to you… and respect you, sometimes even if the elders don't seem to love it—" she cut off her words, sneaking a look at my face.
"Continue." That was all I had to say
