Hayden paced back and forth in his room, his mind consumed by worry for Sasha's safety. He had tried calling her phone again, but her line was still unreachable, and he couldn't shake off the feeling of responsibility for her disappearance. "I guess this is my fault," he muttered to himself, his voice laced with self-blame. "I know I don't love Sasha, but I still care about her as a friend, and I should have been more considerate of her feelings." Determined to find out what was going on, Hayden decided to sneak downstairs and eavesdrop on the conversation between Elisa, Emily, and Mrs. Walker. He hid in the staircase, holding his breath as he listened intently to their hushed tones. "I'm telling you, she's a troublemaker," Elisa said, her voice dripping with disdain. "Sasha has always been a problem, and now she's gone too far." "I don't know, Elisa," Emily countered, her voice measured. "Sasha seems like a nice person. Maybe we should give her a chance." "Give her a chance?" Mrs. Walker snorted. "She's had plenty of chances, and she's blown them all. Mark my words, she'll come crawling back when she needs something." Hayden's eyes widened as he listened to the conversation, his mind racing with thoughts of Sasha's whereabouts and the sinister plot unfolding before him. Mrs. Walker was already upset, pacing back and forth in agitation, when Emily tried to calm her down. "Mum, calm down," Emily said, her voice soothing, but Mrs. Walker was having none of it. She turned to Emily, her eyes blazing with determination. "How do you expect me to calm down when Elisa is not yet pregnant with Hayden's child? You need to be smart and get pregnant before the wedding, or Hayden will discover that it was all a plan to send Sasha away, and I won't have him going back to her," Mrs. Walker exclaimed, her voice rising. Hayden, still hiding in the staircase, was shocked by what he was hearing. He couldn't believe that his mother and Elisa had concocted a plan to trick him into divorcing Sasha. Emily continued to explain the previous plan, how Hayden had been drunk and Elisa had pretended to sleep with him, making him believe that Sasha had cheated on him. Hayden's eyes widened in disbelief as he realized the extent of the deception. "Emily, you have to make sure that you and Hayden have something together," Mrs. Walker urged, her voice cold and calculating. Hayden felt a wave of regret wash over him as he realized the truth about Elisa's lies and his mother's scheming. He had been blind to Sasha's genuine love for him, and now he saw the error of his ways. He sighed heavily, his heart heavy with remorse for divorcing Sasha. "Well, Hayden said that he wanted our wedding night to be a surprise," Elisa said, her voice dripping with innocence. But Hayden was having none of it. He interrupted them, his anger boiling over, and clapped his hands together in disgust. Mrs. Walker, Emily, and Elisa turned to face him, their faces shocked and guilty. "Hayden!" Mrs. Walker exclaimed, her voice rising in anger. "How dare you!" But Hayden was unstoppable. "This was all your plan, wasn't it? To make me divorce Sasha and marry a liar like Elisa? And Elisa, you were never pregnant, were you? Wow, what a web of deceit!" he spat out, his eyes blazing with fury. Mrs. Walker took a step closer to him, her face red with rage. "Hayden, how can you be so foolish?" she began, but Hayden cut her off. "Mum, please don't say anything," he warned, his voice low and menacing. "But why are you so hurt, Hayden? You didn't love Sasha," Mrs. Walker protested. "I know I didn't love her, Mum, but she's a good person and my friend from high school. I may have treated her badly in our marriage, but now I realize what I've lost, and I'm going to find her," Hayden declared, his jaw set in determination. Mrs. Walker was shocked. "What? You dare not do that, Hayden!" she exclaimed, but Hayden stood his ground. "Don't try to stop me, Mum. I'm going to make things right with Sasha," he said, his voice firm. Emily tried to intervene. "Mum is right, Hayden. Don't be foolish," she said, but Hayden turned on her. "You're just as guilty as they are, Emily. You knew about the plan and said nothing. I'm ashamed of all of you," Hayden shouted, his anger and hurt boiling over. Just shut up, Emily! I have no time for this. I need to go find Sasha," Hayden said, his voice firm and urgent. He ran out of the house, leaving Elisa, Mrs. Walker, and Emily in a state of shock and upset. Moments later, Elisa returned to her home, where she met her secret lover, James. James approached her with a romantic gaze, but Elisa stopped him from kissing her. "What's going on?" James asked, noticing Elisa's distress. "Hayden learned the truth - that I'm not pregnant with his child. He called me a liar, and now he'll never trust me again. Our plan has failed," Elisa said, her voice laced with despair. James tried to reassure her. "No, Elisa, don't say that. We haven't failed yet. You can still make him trust you and love you. His mother and sister still like you, and that's a glimmer of hope for our plan." Elisa considered James' words and smiled. "You're right, James. I think I have an idea." "Tell me," James said, curious. "Get me pregnant, and then I'll find a way to pin it on Hayden. He'll have no choice but to accept me," Elisa said, a sly grin spreading across her face. James disagreed. "No, that's not a good idea, Elisa. Getting you pregnant will only make things worse. Right now, we need to focus on making Hayden trust you again, and we'll do that slowly, with the help of Emily and Mrs. Walker." Elisa smiled, seeming to accept James' advice. James offered her a drink, and they toasted to their continued scheming.
