Chapter 24

He remained in the bathtub for almost an hour before he finally stood up. He grabbed a towel and used it in drying his body before tying it around his waist. He proceeded into his bedroom and went straight to his dressing table. He had his seat and glanced at his reflection in the mirror. He sighed and took up a skin lotion and added some on his palms before he started applying it on his body. He got up and headed to his closet which he quickly flipped open and took out some clothes for himself and got dressed into it before he started walking out of the room. He wasn't really hungry though but he would just go over to the dining room and eat something. He knows for sure that Aurora wouldn't be in the dining room again because he knew he had really spent so much time in the bathtub and there was no way he was going to also meet her there anymore. It was even good that she wouldn't be there too because he was getting frustrated by always seeing her cold face. Despite the fact that he has tried several times to make her happy and forgive him. But it never works. She still remains cold towards him.

He was not confused and he didn't know what more to do. He has tried all he could to please her and right now he was totally out of object and he is so frustrated about the whole thing. He is sad and that isn't good for an Alpha of his status. He slowly walked over to the dining room and saw the cook seated on a chair there. But Immediately he walked in. She raised her head and saw him and quickly stood up on her feet. "Good morning Alpha." She quickly greeted him.

"Good morning, how are you doing? and how was your night?" He managed to ask.

"I'm fine Alpha, and my night was also good." She replied.

"Ok, I guess the food is already cold and will need some warming up." He said,

"Yes but I have already warmed it,so I will just go and get it from the kitchen." She said,

"Ok then please do." He replied.

"Alright Alpha." She bowed and walked out of the dining room, while Adonis walked over to a chair and pulled it out and had his seat as he waited patiently for the cook to return.

The cook walked back into the dining room after a while with a bowl in her hand. She dropped the bowl in front of him and opened it before she started dishing out food for him. He smiled and started eating immediately after she dished it on the breakable plate in front of him. The cook covered up the big bowl and walked back to the chair she was sitting earlier and had her seat again as she waited for him to finish up with his food.

Soon Adonis was finally done with his food and he drank water before standing up from the dining table. She saw him as he stood up and knew immediately that he was done eating so she also stood up on her feet too. He mouthed a 'thank you for the food' to her before finally walking out of the dining room. The cook also started cleaning out the dishes from the table. She took them out of the dining room and returned them to the kitchen. She immediately washed them off before returning back to her room.

Meanwhile Aurora was seated in her bed. She had a book on her hands which she was reading. But as she was reading her mind went over to Adonis and she put the book aside. She wondered why he wasn't in the dining room. She has actually delayed herself back in her room so she wouldn't have to see him too much. But when she still got to the dining room after delaying herself back at her room for almost twenty minutes she was still told that Adonis had still come over to the dining room by the cook. So she couldn't help but wonder what was wrong with him. And even before she left the dining room she didn't see him come in and that even added to her surprise. But though she doesn't really care about him, she was just surprised. Could it be that he was also starting to avoid her too? She thought. But if it was true that he was actually avoiding her now then it was even better, because she doesn't want to see him either. She will be glad if she doesn't see his face for a while, that would make her feel relaxed and much better.

But nevertheless she should be dwelling in his thoughts for so long besides she has a book in front of her and she would definitely not waste her precious time thinking about Adonis. She sighed and took up her book again but this time she climbed into her bed and relaxed back on the bed and started reading the book again. She was loving it since she didn't get to see him that morning. Anything he has given to her was not important to her no matter how beautiful it might seem, because she wasn't happy with him and nothing can ever make her happy with him again. So he can keep trying his best to please her but he would never succeed in pleasing her because she wasn't ready to forgive him anytime soon. But honestly she really enjoyed the s*x they have last night and it's was still very surprising to her that Adonis slept with her on the same room which he has never done before. If it was any other time she would have kissed him and thanked him but not anymore she was never going to do that. She would never appreciate him for anything because she doesn't see any reason to.

Last night when they were getting intimate she wouldn't lie she felt different and even forget about everything that has happened between them. But the moment she opened her eyes that morning, the part of her that sees him as a monster returned and she felt disgusted seeing his hand around her body. She wished she could just change the night and make it look like they didn't do anything together. And even the diamond necklace he had gotten for her was also very beautiful but she wouldn't waste her time admiring a gift from her monster mate. Honestly if she was given an opportunity to escape from the house she would happily grab it because she was so tired of leaving with a monster that she calls her mate. She was sure that nothing could even change the way she felt about him and that was final. Even if he has to bring the whole world to her she would never accept it and change how she feels about him,or stop seeing him as a monster. She really can't help it but that is what she thinks.

Her thoughts did well in taking her attention from the book in front of her. She was actually still holding the book in her hand and her eyes were fixed on it too but she couldn't even read anything from it because different thoughts were clouding her mind and there was nothing she could do about it. She tried to shake it off but couldn't and she dropped the book back on the bed and sat up on her bed. She climbed down from her bed and started walking toward her bathroom. The Walked in fully and washed her face with some water before she proceeded out of the bathroom. She slowly walked back into her room and went back to bed again. She hit herself softly and sighed before taking up the book again. She flipped it open again and continued reading from where she had stopped but this time around no thought came into her mind again. She was finally focused on the book now and she was now starting to enjoy the book again like she was before. She managed to lay on the bed again and continued reading the book.

Meanwhile Adonis was seated in his bed in his room with so many thoughts running through his hair. He wondered if she has already made up her mind never to forgive him even again because with all what he has done for her so far she can try to consider him and still forgive him too but now she isn't making any attendance. Or is she actually trying to leave his life for good? Those questions popped into his head and he wished he could get an answer to all of them. What more was he going to do now? He doesn't really want to lose the new mate he has now.
