Chapter 26

After a while Adonis was finally calm and he sat down on his bed and held his head in his palms. He wished he could just make Aurora forgive him once and for all. He understands the fact that he was the cause of everything that has been happening and he regrets it so much and wants to make amends badly but Aurora isn't allowing him to do that. But he would still look for a way to make sure he gets her forgiveness even if it is the last thing he does, he will definitely do it. He sighed and slowly stood up from his bed. He needs something that would distract him right now from all his thoughts. He started walking out of his room. His head was bowed as he walked over to his office. A maid greeted him as he walked on and he just stopped remembering his room was a mess and needed to be cleaned and even his laundry basket was full. "Go to my room and clean it up." He said, "Ok, Alpha." The maid bowed and turned to go but he stopped her. "And make sure you take out the laundry because they are starting to irritate me." He said, "Yes Alpha, I will do just that." The maid bowed again. Adonis turned away and started walking away. He was still upset and he doesn't want to face it on anyone,so he really needs to get rid of his anger as soon as possible. He walked into his office and headed straight for the chair which he sat on immediately and took up some of the files he had already worked on. He took an empty file and started transferring his work there. It was not as if the old files were bad but he just needed to do something that would totally take his mind off his thoughts and he finally succeeded while doing the transfer of the files. His mind was totally fixed in the files he was working on and he didn't even think of anything else as he works. He made sure he reads the files as he works on to keep him even more distracted from giving in to his thoughts. He remained in his office working on those files for hours until it was finally noon. Soon the cook was finally done making lunch. She went over to Adonis' room to get him down for lunch. She knocked and knocked but there was no response. "I guess he isn't in his room then." The cook said to herself and was about to turn around to leave when she met a maid walking towards Adonis' door. She watched the maid as she opened the door to walk into Adonis' room with some clothes in her hand. "Where do you think you are going?" The cook asked. "To drop this clothes of course." The maid replied. "Alpha isn't in his room." The cook said, "I know, I saw him earlier when he was going to his office and that was when he also asked me to do his laundry too." The maid replied. "Oh ok, that means he would probably be in his office right now." The cook sighed. "Yes, I think so." The maid said, and opened the door and went into Adonis' room with the clothes in her hand. The cook turned around and started walking to Adonis' office. She was finally at his office door within a few minutes and she sighed heavily before knocking at the door. Adonis ordered her in and she told him that lunch was ready. He nodded and told her to go and turned back to his work. The cook left his office and started making her way to Aurora's room. Meanwhile Aurora remained in her room also distracted from her thoughts with the book she had been reading since that morning. She was actually happy about the story in the book she was reading because it was really fun and filled with exciting moments and she just couldn't help but smile as she continued reading. She was still reading the book when she heard a knock on her room door. And she knew who it was already and quickly raised her glance to the wall clock in her room and gasped. "Ok my goodness, it's noon already." She said, and again the knock came. "I'm coming down already." She screamed so the cook could hear her. "Ok ma'am, I will be waiting for you in the dining room." The cook replied, and started walking away. Aurora slowly stood up from her bed and dropped the book beside her bedside lamp on the nightstand drawer before walking out of her room. She headed straight to the dining room. She actually thought Adonis would definitely be there already but she had planned to ignore him as usual and eat her food as she has always done. But she was shocked when she got to the dining room and couldn't find Adonis anywhere around there. She quietly had her seat and the cook served her the food and she started eating. She pulsed out of curiosity because Adonis hadn't still come over to the dining room yet. "Did you call Alpha?" Aurora asked. "Yes I did, even before I came to your room to call you." The cook answered. "So why isn't he here yet?" Aurora asked. "I don't really know ma'am, maybe he got so busy with the work he was doing in the office and forgot I came there to call her, maybe I should probably go and call him again." The cook said, and turned to leave. "No, don't worry about that, don't go again, he will definitely come down." Aurora told her. "Ok ma'am." The cook replied. Aurora continued her food in total silence for a while before she finally finished the food on her plate. She took up the glass of water and zipped it down her throat and sighed. She was actually still surprised that Adonis still hadn't come down for lunch. But she won't actually waste her precious time waiting for him. Besides, she doesn't even want to see him in the first place and that was a good way for her to escape seeing him. She stood up from her chair and arranged it back before thanking the cook for the meal and walking out of the dining room. As she walked back to her room, she glanced around as if she was going to see Adonis but she didn't see him until she got to the door of her room. She quickly opened her room door and walked into her room before shutting the door. She proceeded to her bed and sat on it before she finally slowly started climbing into it. She laid down on the bed and stretched her hand to the nightstand drawer and took up the book again and continued reading from where she had stopped. But as she read she wondered if Adonis was actually trying to avoid her that was why he didn't show up at lunch but she doesn't really care much about it though. She would even be happy if he decides to avoid her because even her wasn't still interested in seeing him regularly. She tried to focus back her attention on the book in her hand. Adonis remained in his office as he continued working on the files which has kept him distracted all this while. He didn't think about anything, and all the anger he was feeling earlier has totally disappeared and he was happy about that too. Now he has finally got a way to distract him again from everything around him. He will just continue doing that Everytime that he needs not to think about anything or he is upset he would just simply go into his office to ease himself. He remains seated in his office for hours without having the urge to go and have lunch or even leave the office and go and rest back in his room. He was really enjoying the work he was doing right now, and he could spend the whole day doing it. Meanwhile the cook has been in the dining room for hours now. She has been waiting for Adonis to come so she could serve him his food but until now there was no sign of him coming. She sighed and stood up from the chair she had been seated in and waited for him. She walked towards the door of the dining room and flipped it open as she glanced around if she would see him coming. It was already evening and almost time for the cook to go and start preparing dinner but Adonis still hasn't come to have his lunch. She didn't know what to do anymore as she remained at the door. She can't help it anymore. She would have to go ahead and clear out the dishes from the dining table so she could go to make dinner.
