Ariella's POV I pressed the answer key, and Matthew's voice came through the line. "Ella." His voice was as melodious as ever, deep and resonant like the sound of a cello, utterly captivating. I took a deep breath and said, "Don't call me Ella. I have nothing to do with you." As soon as I finished speaking, I subconsciously clenched my fists. I hadn't realized the sadness and reluctance in my own tone, slightly trembling, but mostly resolute. A faint sigh seemed to come from the other end of the phone. Matthew said, "Did you receive those dresses? Do you like them?" I shook my head stubbornly and said, "I don't need you to send me these things. I'll find a way to pay you back as soon as possible." After saying those words, I hung up the phone, and my hand, still gripping it tightly
