Part 1 Nova's POV "Woooow." Was the first thing that fell off my plump rosy-pink lips as I looked at the castle- like building that stood in front of me. I would be living here and going to school here now. Then it hit me like a boulder falling down a hill  I WILL BE GOING TO SCHOOL HERE!!  I yelled in my head super loud. I would be going to an actual school for the first time in my life I couldn't believe this is happening to me. Then all of a sudden I started to feel anxious, scared and self-conscious What if people don't like me? And I won't fit in here! Along with a whole lot of 'what if's' started to circle around my thoughts for the first time in my life and I didn't like it at all, not one bit of it.     Hold on!  You could be wondering what in the world is going on....or......not.  But I'm gonna have to tell you so for one you know more about me and what's happening and you don't get confused. So let's rewind about... two months is good enough.                       ______________________________________________________________________________     Two months ago...     I woke up as usual, with a headache because my neck is sore from the way I slept. I did my morning stretch which felt amazing then got up got my cloths I was going to wear and went to the bathroom just to see a lot of kids already waiting to use it. That's when I knew this morning would be a long one.     So hey.  While I'm waiting here in this long line to the bathroom I might as well tell you about me. I'm Nova Moon, some people think it's weird how my name sounds but I like to think of it as unique ya know.      Well I've grown up in an orphanage, seems sad and all but this place is my home I couldn't think of living anywhere but here. Ms. Bradley is the Directress of the orphanage, she basically runs everything around here since there isn't that much help. She is really a sweet and caring woman and in my eyes she's my mother.      Ms.Bradley says that I was dropped off here when I was just a few months old. I came in a box with a pink blanket that had moons and dandelions covering it, I still have it to this day. There was a note from my parents, it mostly explains how much they love me and wished they didn't have to give me up, they were just too young and it wasn't accepted among their families. They didn't want me to live in an environment that didn't want me there, and instead to be somewhere that would accept me there. So I ended up in an orphanage to clarify it Rosa's Orphanage.      I always wondered what my parents were like when I read the letter, but I don't sweat it too much 'cause if I do I will stress and well that's never a good feeling.     I've watched boys and girls leave the orphanage all the time, no one came and took me though I wasn't interesting enough or too old or too young. It was always something so I've been here for 16 years, the farthest I have ever left is to go to the town that is an hour walk away from here. I am the oldest kid in the orphanage, the person that is closest to me in age is a boy who is 11.       I don't get to attached to the kids that come here, because they end up leaving. I used to but I would always get sad when they left and metaphorically I was alone.  Ms.Bradley always says "Someone will come in through those doors and love you just like we do and more."      But in all honesty I don't want that to happen. I love it here and this, this place is my home and no one will change my mind.     Finally I reached the bathroom, so I went in did my business and got dressed in my long black sleeved shirt and black jeans that aren't that nice looking but good enough for me. I put my shoes on that looked like they have been through hell and back, but I only have two pairs of shoes in total. I washed my face of with warm water, then brushed my white teeth. After that I brushed my long and wavy honey brown hair out, which rested at my mid-back. I looked in the mirror to see my refection looking back at me with my light greenish-blue mixed eyes. I scanned my body in the mirror, my brown hair which complimented my fair skin well.      I leave the bathroom no that I've done my morning routine and go back to the room, where many other of the girls are right now. I walk over to my bed and grabbed  my glasses off the night stand. I went to the dinning hall to see the tables being set by boys and girls.      Ms. Bradley spotted me and walked over to me, "Good morning, Nova."      "Good morning, Ms.Bradley." I replied to her with a large smile.     "Why don't you help me with the breakfast." She said and it wasn't really a question. So I didn't really have a choice.      We went into then kitchen, where a majority of the food had already been cooked. We had finished cooking the rest of the food in no time. Kids helped bring it to the tables and then we all sat down and ate. it was loud as usual but what more would you expect from a room of kids that are 10 and under.      While everyone was talking I was stuck in my own head, as I always am. I just wasn't really interested in talking about The scary monster in the closet  or  Who's better Superman or Batman.  I love it here, well as much as I can really, but I'm a sixteen year old in a mixture of nine-year-old's and younger and one always grumpy ten-year-old.      Do you know that feeling of being the oldest out of your siblings and you want to be able to connect with them over things but the age gap and even if you talk to them about things they look at you like you have ten heads? No? Well if you know what I'm talking about, then you know how I feel, but the thing is this is every day of my life for the past about five and a half years.      I love all the kids here, they are all special in there own way, I just feel like I have no one to talk to a lot about the problem I have. It would be nice to have someone my own age to be friends with and make jokes with, even though I suck at making jokes in general.      After breakfast and helping clean up Ms.Bradley wanted to talk to me. I walked to her office which was on the first floor. When I walked in I was met with lots and lots of papers flooding the room. It looked like a tornado hit the room and destroyed it. Papers on the floor along with books and pencils and pens, papers and different kinds of envelopes flooded the desk at least that what I think it is but you cant rally see any of it. To put it into few words the room was a disaster.      I lightly knocked on the door even though I had already opened it. She looked up at me from the plies of papers with a small smile. "Nova, come here dear." she said standing up. I walked towards her doing my best no to trip over anything. Once I finally got to her she asked me a question.     "Nova can you help some of the kids in reading a lot of them are having trouble, and I just can do that right now 'cause I have to pick up some of this." She said pointing to the mess in the room.      "Of course I will help I would love to." I really do like teaching them how to read and write properly. The materials that are needed for a good education around here is really scarce. I was able to pick things up very fast when Ms.Bradley taught me. We don't have to many books here, well at least child appropriate books. So I would go outside and make up my own stories with my surroundings, but now that I'm older as much as I like nature it doesn't appeal to me as much as it did when I was little.     I was always told by people that I was extremely smart for my age. Which was exaggerated in my opinion, it all just came naturally to me for some reason. I didn't try to hard when I was younger or now actually, like with math and science, or learning different languages which was hard of course especially when you don't have text books or word card and such to help you. I do like to learn new things, but there isn't much here to help me learn new things. Ms.Bradley tells me stories of when she was a girl and what her family went through and things she over came I always enjoy hearing her stories and learning from those. That's why I like going to town when we need things, the people there are nice some aren't but a majority of them are. They always have interesting things to tell, who knows if they are actually real or not but I like hearing them any ways.     So I gathered some of the kids outside, three boys and girls, two of them are six, two of them are five, and two of them are four, each pair one boy and one girl. With me I had a couple books and notebooks, it was warm out today that's why I decided to be outside today. We were sitting on the ground and I was helping Alex, who is four, read a page from the book when a car well really it was a limo. I had never seen one in person it was big.      There are quite a lot of kids playing outside so when the limo pulled up, and all heads were turned towards it. We never see nice cars come here or any really, there aren't a lot of people who can afford them here. I hadn't realized it but Ms.Bradley was out here and she looked as confused as I felt.      A man that looked old, like in his early to mid sixties got out of the car and went around the limo and opened the door that was facing us, so I guess he was a chauffeur. After the man had opened the door another man had got out, he was dressed in a suit and had a watch on that looked more expensive than anything I had ever seen, he had to be rich or very wealthy. That why it was weird that he was here did he want to adopted one of the kids, well that's the only reason he would be here. Following right after him another person got out of the limo, it was a boy this time, he looked like he was around my age maybe though maybe older. He was dressed in all branded cloths it's weird seeing this much nice things like these Items in one day.     They looked around the yard and I least expected to make eye contact with the boy that looked about my age,  his eyes were a sapphire blue color they were memorizing, but I still looked away even though it had been a few seconds. After I had looked away is when Ms.Bradley walked over to the two. She shook their hands and what I'm guessing is introduce herself. I felt a tugging on my right arm so I looked over to see Annabelle who is six, tugging at my shirt.      "Who are they Nova?" She asked me, but I couldn't actually answer that question but if I was going to I would guess,     "Important people Annabelle." I said looking at her. That was the best I could answer her questions. I looked back up to see man and Ms.Bradley still talking and the boy seemed disinterested in what was going on. In all honesty he seemed like a brat, I feel bad for saying it though because I'm just judging it by the way he looks and that's not right, but it seems true by the look on his face and stance he had. Ms.Bradley turned around and looked around until she made eye contact with me.     "Nova, come here for a second please." She asked  I was definitely a little nervous, I mean why would she want to go up there, I mean I'm fine  sitting right here.     Even though I didn't really want to go over there I still did. I slowly stood up, and in a slow way I walked over to Ms.Bradley and the two guys. When I finally got over there Ms.Bradley Introduced me, then The older man extended his hand started talking he,     "Hi Nova, It's very nice to meet you." He told me, I also extended my hand out to shake his. His grip was quite strong as he shook my hand as well. His voice sounded gravelly in a way.     "Nice to meet you..um..."      "Michael Edwards, and this is my son Everett." He told me filling in the end of my sentence since he realized I didn't know his name.      "Not to be rude or anything but, uh, why was I called over here?" I had asked.     "Well there is something we need to talk about Ms.Moon." He had told me, which made my stomach churn, not because I had a bad feeling it's just that Mr.Edwards had an intimidating aura that surrounded him. Ms.Bradley started talking though,     "I think it's a better idea that we talk first, then you can talk to Nova." She told him not giving him room for questioning. He didn't say anything though he just shook his head for a few seconds , with a look on his face that looked like he was thinking in great concentration. Then finally speaking he said,     "Alright, but is the somewhere private we can speak?" He had a asked her.     "Follow me." Ms.Bradley said as she gestured to the orphanage, then she started walking towards it with both Mr.Edwards following her along with his son. She stopped to tell me to watch the kids good thing for me quite a few had went inside already. They went inside and I went and sat back down and continued to read to the kids I was reading to before. Soon enough more had gathered around and listened to me as I was reading.     After awhile Ms.Bradley had come out with Mr.Edwards and his son. They were all standing at the platform of the stairs and Mr.Edwards and Ms.Bradley were talking while his son, if I remember correctly his name is Everett, was just standing next to Mr.Edwards.       "Thank you for your time Ms.Bradley, I hope to get a response soon." Mr.Edwards had said while shaking Ms.Bradley's hand.       "I'll make sure not to keep you waiting too long on that response Mr.Edwards. and I hope you have a safe ride home." She had responded to him with a smile shaking his hand as well. He went to walk away when he had noticed me.     "It was nice to meet you Ms.Moon, I hope to see you one day in the future." He said with a smile.     "Nice meeting you as well Mr.Edwards." I said waving my right hand goodbye, though I doubt he will ever see me in the future.             Or so I thought.
