Chapter 6“Are you ready to go?” “In a minute,” I said from the bathroom. I stood in front of the mirror and checked my hair for the third time. Today was a big day, and I couldn’t let Eduardo know how nervous I was. A major reason that we chose to honeymoon in Puerto Rico was so Eduardo could introduce me to his large extended family. I had already met his parents and siblings at the wedding, but his grandmother, aunts, uncles, and cousins still lived on the island. Eduardo’s grandmother had turned ninety-two that fall, and she remained healthy, but the unspoken reality was obvious: no one knew how much longer she had left.
