THE BLACKWOOD RESIDENT
The family were all sitted in the dinning room eating as the chefs continued to bring in different assorted dishes and deserts.
Someone was drawing at a corner and deeply engrossed in it, it was Alexandra Blackwood, Ethan's mother.
Just then, Ethan walked past holding a cup of coffee. He muttered his greetings to the family.
"Goodmorning son, now come sit at the table. I want a word with you".
His grandfather, Martins Blackwood said.
Ethan sighed.
He went to sit at the table and began to sip his coffee.
"What do you want to talk about, sir". Ethan asked.
His father, Leonard sighed.
"Son, you'll be thirty in a few months time isn't it?". Martins Blackwood said.
"Yes, grandpa". He answered already aware of what the discussion was about.
"So, what is your plan?". Martins asked.
"Grandpa, I'll get married when I have to". He said.
"And when will that be?". Leonard cut in getting angry already.
"Soon, dad". Ethan said already irritated.
"Here's what will happen, if you don't bring a wife on or before your thirtieth birthday, the company is going from you to your step brother Evans". Martins said finally. Evans grinned from the other end of the dining table and made the peace sign.
"Evans already had a Fiancée and it won't be long enough before he brings her in as a wife, but you Ethan, you don't even associate with women, how do you get a wife?". Leonard scolded him.
"Dad, don't worry I'll get a wife soon". Ethan said.
"And it must be on or before your thirtieth birthday, it's a must or else your inheritance will pass you to Evans". Martins reminded him again.
"Alright, grandpa. I'll get a wife. Don't worry". Ethan said as he got up forgetting his cup of coffee on the table.
"Your cup". His sister, Amber reminded him and he shrugged as he took the cup and left the dinning room.
Now it dawned on him that he needed a wife now.
BLACKWOOD DINNER NIGHT
It was the night that all the famous and wealthiest people in the country were gathered together.
Cindy had gotten Daisy an invitation card as no one could get past the guards without an invitation from the Blackwood family. Daisy wondered how she got it but she bothered not to ask, it wasn't any of her business.
She was magnificently dressed as she stared at herself at the mirror, she couldn't believe she was staring at herself because she didn't believe she could be that pretty.
She had never looked like that in her life, though she was pretty but the silk evening wear and pearl choker brought out all her assets, she was stunning and had perfect curves at the right places.
Her look was completed after she put on the heels and took her clutch. She heard a honk and peeped from the window. A limousine was downstairs and the driver winked at her.
She couldn't believe Cindy had ordered a limousine for her. This was definitely life, she thought out aloud.
She hurried downstairs as the driver opened the door for her, she smiled.
"You look gorgeous, miss". He complimented her to which she replied with a smile.
The drive was smooth with an air-conditioner, she had never been in a limousine in her entire life.
Soon, they got to the Blackwood residence. Different luxurious and exotic cars were packed outside and there was a queue which she joined, all eyes were turned to her as most of the ladies accompanying the men had to pinch their men to stop ogling at her.
She smiled when she noticed, it would definitely work for Ethan, she thought.
It soon got to her turn and she handed in her invite and was allowed in.
The inside was breathtaking, there were lots to eat and drink and everyone looked rich and expensively dressed that she began to feel out of place.
She took the cocktail offered by a waiter and muttered her thanks.
"What are you doing here and who invited you here too?". She heard a thick, masculine and cold voice ask and she turned to see Ethan standing behind her with his eyes cold as usual.
"I...I was...was given an invitation by...by...". She stammered unsure of what to say.
"Have you lost your tongue or what?, Who invited you?". He asked again.
Meanwhile, Ethan's sister, Amber and mother, Alexandra were watching from a corner.
" The lady look gorgeous". Ember was saying.
"I see that too, I think they're getting along also". Alexandra said as she sipped her drink smiling.
"He never takes to women, I think there would be a change with this lady". Amber said." I'm so happy for big brother".
Alexandra pulled Amber aside.
"We must make them work". She said.
"How is that, mom?". Amber asked confused.
"We must continue to host parties like this or anything so they'll keep crossing paths, what if she works at his company? Then they'll be closer". Alexander said.
"But mom, Ethan won't be comfortable about this idea". Amber told her mother.
"And who's going to tell him? It's our little secret girl". Alexandra said as they continued watching Ethan.
*
"I'm asking who invited you?". Ethan was asking.
Daisy didn't know what to say and she couldn't remain dumb any longer because she knew it was just a matter of time before Ethan losses his patience and call the securities on her.
"I did, Brother". A voice said from behind as Ethan and Daisy turned to see the figure.
It was the handsome man Daisy had came across in the elevator at Novatech inc.
" You did?". Ethan asked suprised.
"Sure". He said smiling at Daisy who smiled back.
"How do you know her?" Ethan asked.
"She's someone I'm about to court". He said grinning at Ethan as Daisy blushed.
Ethan left the scene irritated.
The man turned to Daisy and smiled.
"I'm Jude Blackwood, Ethan's first cousin". He said proudly as he offered his hand.
"Daisy Brooks". She said as she took his hand.
"Do you mind if I ask you far a short dance?". He asked.
"I don't mind, why not?". She followed him to the dance floor.
