CHAPTER FIVE
BLACKWOOD RESIDENTS
The family were having breakfast as usual when Ethan walked past after muttering a greeting.
Alexandra hurried after him.
"What is it mom?. He asked.
She smiled.
"Isn't she gorgeous?". She asked.
"Who?". Ethan asked pretending not to know what she was talking about.
"Miss Daisy, and she's even a miss". Alexandra said grinning.
"Mom, it's going to be a busy day at the office, I must go now". He said as he began to walk again.
" It was a really beautiful spark there last night". Alexandra called after as she went back to the dinning table.
"Mom, you're inconveniencing big brother". Amber cautioned her.
" I'm sorry, I can't help it. Ethan finally talked to a lady". She said joyously.
"Really?". Leonard, Ethan's father asked suprised at the news.
"Yes, last night at the party. She was the most beautiful lady there. Jude tried to steal her away". Alexandra said as she shot Jude a death glare.
"Come on, Ethan can't take care of a lady, he can't handle a female. Those beings are way too fragile for him". Jude said as Evans laughed.
"Now stop making fun of your brother behind his back". Alexandra ordered.
Jude turned to Evans.
"Then we'll do it in his presence when he's back later". He said as he burst I to a stream of laughter with Evans.
"Shut up you two, my son will get married before any of you know it". She said as she left the table upset and went to the drawing room.

NOVATECH INC...
Mr. Bates opened the door of the limousine as Ethan came out, he collected the briefcase from him and led him to the office as everyone on their way stopped to bow and greet him.
He sat on his desk in his office looking through files. He was feeling exhausted already when he raised his head and his eyes caught the picture frame of his great- grandfather.
He remembered last night's discussion with Daisy, he had felt better afterwards it and had slept well which had never happened in years.
He got up and moved the frame to the sunlight and saw it lit the office. He missed his great-grandfather, the only man he wasn't afraid to show his weakness to and the only person he could talk to, the tears were dropping already the memories as he quickly took a towel to mop his face with, Bates knocked softly and entered.
"Young master, a lady in the lounge wishes to see you". He announced.
Ethan looked up, his eyes were red and Bates saw the frame had been moved from its corner, he understood immediately.
"I can ask her to leave and come back another day, don't worry". He said.
"It's okay, Bates. Let her in and get done with it". He said as he sat down back.
"As you wish, young master". He said and went out of the office.
Daisy came in later.
"Good afternoon, sorry to bother you. I just thought I should stop by". She said.
"Stop by to do what? Can't you see I'm doing so fine?". He asked angrily.
"Enough with the shouting and getting annoyed, Mr. Hyde. It wouldn't help you". She said.
"What do you want?" He asked.
She brought out a bag and dropped it on his table.
"I brought you cakes, I made them myself. I learnt it from my grandmother, she was a good cook". She said and just then she noticed the frame had been moved and she smiled. "You've been doing good for yourself, it's nice".
"Are you done now?". Ethan asked.
Daisy smiled one of her charming smile.
"Have a nice day, Mr. CEO". She said as she took her bag to leave, she smiled at him again when she was at the door and left.
Ethan opened the bag on his desk and saw the cakes, they were tantalising and appetizing that he hoped they would also taste delicious.
Mr. Bates entered.
"Master, should I take you home?". He asked.
" I'm not going to the family house today, take me to the villa instead. But go and inspect those workers downstairs first". He ordered and just as Bates left, Jude walked in.
"Hey, yo bro". He waved.
Ethan sighed.
"What do you want?". He asked.
"Aren't I privileged to see how my cousin is doing anymore?". Jude asked as he walked towards the table. He opens the bag and found the cakes.
"Where did you get this? From one of your secret admirers?". He joked as he was about to pull out a cake.
Ethan slapped his hand and grabbed the bag.
"Ow, bro that hurts. I only wanted the cakes because I'm sure it would later end up in the dump". Jude said.
" No you don't. Anyway, tell mom I'm not coming home for dinner tonight. I'm staying at my villa". Ethan said.
"Well, alright then. I'll have a lot to eat since I'll be having your dinner also". Jude said still rubbing his sore palm.
"Whatever". Ethan said as he took the bag and left the office to go to his car.
Jude ran after him
"The cakes are from Daisy, isn't it?". He asked.
Ethan turned.
"Who told you that?". He asked.
"Well, you can't hide it brother. We all know you have a special interest in her, you were talking with her through out the night and you never talk with any lady that long". Jude said.
"When will you learn to mind your businesses, Jude?". Ethan asked embarrassed.
"Untill you start acting human and admit it that you liked her". Jude said.
Ethan scoffed.
"Since you want to know, I have no interest in her and never will. She looked like one of those girls who would throw themselves at a man for anything so I have no feelings and nothing to do with her, If you care to know, Jude". He yelled.
However, Jude, being the smart guy he was was not convinced.
"Really, brother?". He asked.
"Yes, of course". Ethan said but everything he had just said were exactly the opposite of the reality...
