Eleanor’s POV After tromping through the forest, we finally made it back to the tree line. The meadow unfolded in front of them, and in the distance, Prusilla’s house looked darkly. I shuddered thinking of everything we’ve escaped, but felt a resilience burning through me. I felt the longing for justice and revenge. “Okay, once I’m in position, I’ll signal to you, and it’ll be go time,” Ash said with a coy smile. I nodded once as she gave me a hug and then disappeared into the large, fir trees. When this was all over, I’d have to ask Ash how she learned to vanish so quickly and without a trace.
