Eleanor’s POV
I watched Liam for a moment more before moving over to the side of the bed. I bent down and lifted up the bed skirt and found a little lever hiding in the bed frame. I pulled it down and a safety deposit box dropped onto the floor. I inserted the code, and the the lip popped open. Smiling, I briefly took in the contents of the box before stuffing it all into my pocket. There wasn’t much, just papers that I knew I’d need for later. Nicholas had been right to suspect Liam of having them.
The door burst open as I was letting the bed skirt fall back into place. Both Candy and Berty stood in the doorway. Their faces were taunt and their fangs were out. I stood up slowly, assessing them.
“Can I help you?” I asked nonchalantly.
Candy stood there dumbfounded. Her eyes were glued
