These gospel songs are a part of me. I sang them from Baptist hymnals and with church choirs from as far back in my childhood as I can remember. I sang them as alto in a quartet at the Baptist church in Clovis, New Mexico. I sang them elatedly back then; I sing them now in private, the words and music indelibly linked with personal memories.
