Kodi didn’t have stage fright. It mattered to her how people perceived her, but different rules applied to different parties. Coworkers and colleagues were different from the faceless masses that were watching her nationwide right now. And while she was always cautious about the image she presented to the people she worked with, she didn’t feel a single thread of anxiety as the live studio audience scrutinized her under the bright lights that shone over her and the host sitting at the desk next to her armchair. This was all pretend anyway. And she only had ten minutes to make her stand before the first commercial break concluded the brief segment, so this would be over before she knew it. Like a tetanus shot. She would have grimaced if she weren’t keeping her face carefully controlled.
