Callan POV The garage had a few cars still parked inside but Ayla’s red Mini Cooper had gone. Time seemed to slow down knowing she wasn’t here. I needed to get to the office, so I could see her with my own eyes. I needed to know she was safe. I could smell her sweet scent in the elevator as it reached the seventh floor and the heaviness on my chest lifted.
