The task

"Well, here I am", Lily said as she walked closer to the desk. "Have a seat", he grunted as he continued to look down at a paper he was holding. Lily sat down and looked around her. There was a sign on the desk that read that Michael was the CEO. Wow, quite impressive, Lily thought, An asshole CEO. "You already know why you're here", Michael said finally breaking into her thoughts. Lily said nothing and he continued, "I want you to paint me a portrait of myself" "Oh that's easy", Lily said, "Is that all?" "Yes", Michael said as he went back to the files that were on his desk. "When do I begin?", Lily asked slightly annoyed that she was being ignored "Tonight", Michael said without looking up "Uhmmm Sir.... I can't paint properly at night because it's going to be dark so I suggest we move it to afternoons " "My contract, my rules ", Michael said as he scribbled something on a piece of paper and passed it to Lily. "What's this?", She asked "Read it" "Well, it looks like an address to somewhere or someplace " "Good girl. That's my address. You are to come by 9 p.m twice a week to paint me" Lily was speechless. In her mind, this is such a weird request to make; getting painted at night and in his house too. What sort of weirdos are rich people? "There's a problem " Lily said "What could the problem be?", Michael responded gruffly. "Well, the light at night won't be enough to capture you in a portrait" "Don't worry about that. That's the whole aim; to paint only what you can see" "There's another problem " "Yes, what's the other problem?", Michael asked with so much sarcasm in his voice. "Well, if I come by 9 p.m, when do I leave?" "Anytime you're done for the night" ************** "That is so weird", Gina said after Lily told her about her encounter at the office with Michael "I was so spooked out I didn't even have the sense to negotiate with him. I just agreed and walked out because I just had to leave there" "Why are rich people so weird. Why do you have to come to his house to paint for him?", Gina asked in astonishment. "It's so crazy. I regret enrolling in this s**t, why didn't your boyfriend tell me about all these weird stuff it required?", Lily asked Gina accusingly as she recalled that it was through Gina's boyfriend that she had gotten herself entangled in this mess anyway. "Babe, I don't think he knew about it. He was just trying to win your approval by being useful to you" "Well, he just got me into a lot of mess" "Take responsibility for your life Lily, you should have read the fine print" "Excuse me?" "I'm not trying to blame you but I would really love for you to understand that he meant no harm" "Well, I can't totally blame your boyfriend. I didn't calm down to read the fine print " "So are you going to go paint him, I mean your donor?", Gina asked. "Well, he assured me it was just a painting so I might as well try " At about 9 p.m later that night, Lily took her paintbrushes, paints and canvas in a tote bag as she walked towards the address that Michael had scribbled for her. When she was midway to the address, she changed her mind about walking and called an Uber. When the driver got to destination, he dropped her off and she made her way towards the house.
