CHAPTER THIRTY-FOUR The tension in the air is thick enough to claw through as I stand before my pack, my second family. It's an impromptu gathering, but the urgency in their collective growl tells me this is no ordinary meeting. The moon hangs heavily above us, a silent witness to the turmoil below. "Fraternizing with the enemy, Grace?" Hud spits out my name like it's a curse. "That's treason." Heat creeps up my neck as I try to hold his glare. "I was not fraternizing," I reply, my voice small against the chorus of snarls and jeers that follow. My gaze flits across the familiar faces now twisted in contempt. All except one - Lucas. But he's nowhere to be seen now when I need that silent strength of his. "Enough!" Kade's voice slashes through the cacophony, authoritative and commanding.
