ADAH'S POV The pendant around my neck pulsed again, sending another wave of warning through my body. I sat up in bed, pressing my hand against my chest where the small crystal lay warm against my skin. That's the fifth time tonight. Sleep had been impossible. Every time I closed my eyes, the pendant would heat up, jolting me awake with its silent alarm. Something was coming. Something dangerous. The rogues. I threw off my covers and paced to the window, peering out into the darkness. The grounds looked peaceful, but I knew that meant nothing. Rogues were experts at staying hidden until they struck.
