I wandered aimlessly through the mall, my mood completely ruined after the humiliation at the salon. Every store window I passed seemed to mock me with its bright displays and happy shoppers inside. What's the point of even being here anymore? I found an empty bench near the fountain and collapsed onto it, watching people walk by with their friends and families.
