ADAH'S POV
My heart was pounding so hard I was sure Mom could hear it. How did she find out? How could she possibly know what I did?
"I really don't know what you're talking about, Mom," I said, trying to keep my voice steady. "Set Angela up for what?"
Mom leaned back in her chair and gave me that look - the one she used to give me when I was little and tried to lie about breaking something.
"Adah, I know you bribed Sarah, one of the housemaids, to give you information about my sleeping pills," she said calmly.
Oh s**t.
"I know you crushed them up and put them in Angela's water glass," she continued. "I know you recorded her embarrassing behavior with the boys and then followed her outside."
My mouth fell open. She knows everything. How is that even possible?
