Chapter 7Gin woke up to what was probably a sunny day. It was hard to tell, given the snow covering the windows. Ordinarily, Gin would have been okay with that. He’d be perfectly happy to meld with the ice and just know what there was to see out there. Today was different, and what made it different was Smoke.
He couldn’t even be mad about it. He wanted to. Romantic nonsense had always been something of an annoyance to him, even when he was in a relationship. He didn’t exactly mind being in a relationship and he cared about the people he was with, but the team and the job always came first. That hadn’t been optional, not since his older brother died.
For the first time in Gin’s life, he wanted to stay with a partner instead of getting back to work.
