Dreams?

*Matteo* The three of us drive back to the pack in silence. I am in quite the sour mood after failing to catch my golden wolf in the forest. I was too late. By the time I ran into the forest after it, it was gone. We must've spooked it when we slammed on the brakes. I don't know what I would've done if I'd caught up to the wolf. I guess just ask them to shift back to human form so I can see who it is and maybe try to figure out why that wolf keeps visiting me in my dreams. It is just strange. It doesn't matter much now. Who knows when the next time I will run into that wolf will be, but maybe it is from a neighboring pack with how close it was. We pull up to the packhouse and park. I thank Jensen and Henrik for making the trip with me. I really do appreciate them. They ask me if I'd like to go to a house party with them. Tonight is a full moon after all, and as werewolves we tend to be full of energy on full moons. I sigh, "Nawh, I think I will pass. Sorry guys. I am just not feeling it tonight." "Thats okay, man, we understand", Jensen says, patting my shoulder, "Come on out if you change your mind though". "Yeah, sure. I plan on just heading to bed, honestly. It's been a long day." "Sounds good. See ya later, Matt", Henrik responds with a wave goodbyes as they both head in the opposite direction. I take the stairs up to the Alpha's suite two at a time. I am just exhausted by the events of the day. I am hopeful that we got somewhere with the Vienna situation, but I wish that there was an easier solution. Where am I going to find a witch to help me with this whole tethering thing? That is a problem for another day though. I pop in and say hello to my mom and dad. They are watching a movie tonight. Mila and Rayna are already in bed for the night. I did not realize it had gotten so late. I say good night to my parents and then head into my room. Jumping into the shower, I let the hot water run down my body, relaxing me. I just feel so on edge right now, must be from seeing that wolf tonight, but I don't know. Climbing into bed, I switch off the light and surprisingly quickly fall asleep. ... I am running through a dark forest. Trees flash by me, branches hitting my face as I go. My lungs burning for air, and my eyes scanning the darkness for something. I burst into a clearing in the trees. A clearing I recognize from many years ago. Vienna and I had followed her dad one day on a mission to collect some herb or something for the pack healers, and we had found it growing in that same clearing. Three dark figures stand in the middle of the clearing like they are waiting for me. A tall man with black hair and red eyes smiles at me, the moonlight glinting off of sharp, deadly fangs. The scene changes and I am looking up into a peaceful night sky. The full moon is high in the sky and the stars are masked by dark clouds. Snow flakes fall lazily around me. The tops of the trees in the surrounding forest are already blanketed lightly by the snowfall. I try to look around me, but my vision is blurry. All I see is red. The white snow around me is painted red, my hand drips red, and a pair of red eyes looking at me. My vision continues to get blurrier and darkness envelops me, tunneling inward. The scene changes again, but this time I am looking down at Vienna's face. Her hazel eyes staring emptily upwards. She blinks a few times and then closes them, falling asleep. Snow flakes cling to her eyelashes and melt onto her cheeks and lips. Her lips are parted open slightly and have a bluish hue to them. Her golden brown hair fanned out across a white blanket of snow, and her skin almost as white as the snow around her. My perspective of her switches slightly, almost as if I am zooming out, more of her coming into view. Blood. Blood seeps from wounds in her neck and arms. It coats her now pale skin and shines in the moonlight. It stains the white snow around her body. A dark figure looms over her, a pale white hand stroking her cheek as she remains unconscious. ... I wake up gasping for air and jump out of bed, vomiting in the garbage can in my bedroom. What was that?! I pace the length of my bedroom and run my fingers through my hair. It was just a dream. It was just a dream. I tell myself over and over again. Sh!t, what if it wasn't just a dream? I mean, the golden wolf wasn't just a dream since I literally saw it today. What if that actually happened to Vienna? Is she okay? Is she dead? These thoughts race through my head, making me spiral into a panic. I walk across the hall, shirtless and barefoot, to my parent's room and bang on the door. "Dad!", I shout through the closed door. He opens it and seeing the panic on my face, grabs a hold of my shoulders, "what is it, son?". My mom now comes out of the room, "Matteo, what's wrong sweetie?". I start explaining to them what I saw in my dream, talking so fast I don't know how they can even understand me. I tell them about the clearing in the woods that I recognized and describe the three figures and the man I saw. I tell them about the full moon in the sky and the snow. I tell them about Vienna, covered in blood, and appearing to be dead or dying. "It was like I was Vienna. I thought it was me in the dream at first, but I think I was seeing what she was seeing. I saw her run through the woods as if she was running away from something and then I saw her point of view as she was laying there looking up at the sky. Then, it switched to me seeing her lay there. Dad, it all seemed so real. What if it wasn't just a dream? What if I was seeing something that actually happened to her?" "Son, calm down. Take a few deep breaths" "Are you kidding me? Calm down? You really think I can just calm down right now? She might be dead!" "We aren't going to get anywhere if we are panicking, Matteo!", my dad says sternly at me, "Now, I doubt that this was anything more than just a nightmare. You obviously have been very stressed about Vienna being gone for so long. That being said, this clearing isn't that far away, lets go there to make sure and ease your mind. Does that sound like a plan?" I sigh in relief, "Yes dad, thank you. Lets go talk to Vienna's dad and gather a few people." My mom gives me a comforting hug. She is going to stay back with Mila and Rayna and keep Vienna's mom, Lena, company while they wait to hear back from us. We update Vienna's dad, Patrick, and grab a few trusted warriors. I shoot a text to Jensen and Henrik. They are going to meet us at the garage. We head over there and load up a few pack vehicles to drive the short distance. Once we are at the edge of the woods near the clearing, the warriors will shift into their wolves. Patrick and I will lead them in human form to the clearing since we have been there before, albeit a long time ago.
