"Good morning, sir...'' I greeted the department head who was focused on the papers in front of him and didn’t look up when I walked into his office, even when I greeted him. I recognized that ash-gray hair and gray suit which made my eyes slightly widen. He was the guy who had helped me get into the building earlier. I had no idea that he was actually our department head. But then I smiled as I felt a wave of relief knowing I’d be working with someone who seemed nice and compassionate.
I made my way to his desk, my heels clicking on the floor, breaking the silence of the room. I stood there, waiting for him to look up and greet me back.
“Good morning, Miss Summers. Great to see you again…” he said smoothly, finally glancing up from his paperwork.
