I woke up the next morning to find that Nathan had already left for work. As I thought about the plan I had been mulling over, a wave of anxiety washed over me.
After I finished my shower, I slipped into a simple white sleeveless dress and put on my flat shoes. I skipped my usual pencil skirt and white ruffled blouse since I wasn’t heading to the office today.
I hailed a taxi and asked the driver to take me to the police station. On the way, I texted Savanna to let her know I’d be taking a day off work and filled her in on what I was about to do.
