The ride home was pretty quiet. All I could hear was my heartbeat and my stomach rumbling. Nathan didn’t even glance my way; he was completely focused on the road.
I was really thankful for how he always came through for me when I needed help. I wanted to lean over and tell him how much I appreciated him, but something was holding me back. I was scared that he might take it the wrong way if I made a move.
