"Hey, it's okay. No need to feel embarrassed. I totally get it because I’ve been in your shoes before. It's just that---" Andrew’s voice trailed off as his phone started ringing. He frowned and pulled it out of his pocket. “Sorry, I need to take this,” he said quietly as he stood up.
“Okay,” I nodded as I watched him stride away, my anxiety creeping in.
What if he says no to my request? That would mean I couldn’t cover Andrea's bills, and then the hospital might stop her treatment.
What if Andrew thinks I only agreed to dinner for some kind of gain? I really hope not. He seemed like a genuinely nice guy. I doubt he’d think of me that way.
