Lyra’s POV
‘You drive beautifully for a woman, you know,’ Phil said to me as we drove to Dame for his doctor's appointment.
‘Really, is that a compliment or are you trying to prepare me for something you are about to say?’ I asked stealing a glance at him before concentrating back on the road.
‘No. It is actually a compliment,’ Phil said then lapsed into silence.
I was happy when he said I would be taking him to Dame for his doctor's appointment. I had expected that he would ask River instead.
‘You and Rive really got into that argument last night Lyra. When are you both going to stop baiting each other?’ Phil said.
‘Rive? Do you still call him that? It sounds weird you know?’ I said instead of answering his question.
