Lyra's POV
I felt as if there was a lump in my throat as I came awake. The moment I opened my eyes, the nausea hit me like a Tsunami. I jumped up and was puking into the toilet in a flash.
River must have thought someone was after me with the speed with which I stumbled on him to get to the bathroom. He called my name repeatedly before he came running after me.
He held my hair away from my face as I wretched severally into the toilet. By the time my stomach was empty, I was tired so I sat on the bathroom floor breathing hard.
River left me briefly to get water for me to clean my mouth. I felt so weak that I couldn't lift myself from the ground. Without saying anything, River carried me into the room and placed me on the bed.
