I looked into the mirror at the piercing blue eyes staring back at me. They were almost grey. "Will they ever stop?"
"Huh!" I looked like a boy right now, granted a pretty boy but still a boy. It took about ten minutes to exit the airport and when I did, of course, every cab was gone but the hotel was only about a ten-minute walk according to my phone, so I guessed I could walk it pretty quickly. I threw my backpack over my shoulders and started to walk; the rain started about 3 minutes into walking, of course. My luck was shit.I hated being cold and wet, I would have to have a hot bath when I got to the hotel.
It all seemed familiar, the streets, the rain, even the ambiance. I looked up, the rain hit me in the face, the sky was dark, the clouds a darker shade of grey. "No no no, this can't be."
The further I walked, the harder the rain seemed to get and the more I struggled to move quickly. I could see the bright lights of the hotel in the distance, the streetlights barely lit the way there but there was still a hint of light coming from them. I was almost there but the rain was heavy, so heavy. My clothes were drenched and cold. I put my arm up to block the rain to see how far I was from the hotel. The same sensation of walking through water hit me, the rain pelted off my leather jacket into my eyes. "Deja vu." I whispered quietly.
I looked around from under my hat cautiously for the man. No one was on the sidewalk but me, the cars were busily moving with their wipers going wild. Suddenly, a group of people burst through the doors of a bar laughing and pushing each other through the puddles in front of me, causing me to jump a little at the abrupt disruption. I maneuvered through the happy crowd keeping my hat and head down. When I finally passed them all, I looked back and watched them turn the first corner on the right, still laughing happily.
I turned and SMACK. My shoes slipped in the puddles and I fell back, everything seemed to move in slow motion as I fell, landing in what seemed like a little ocean of water. In front of me was a man. Black shoes, black dress pants, a black silk shirt unbuttoned just enough to see some skin. He leaned down and looked me dead in the eyes, "Are you alright?" his deep voice flowed like energy through my body. His stare was intense. I could smell hickory and ash; it lifted my soul. My body felt like it was on fire. I swear steam was coming off my body from contact with the rain. Obviously, that wasn't the case, but god, this man did things to me no one had ever done and he didn't even touch me.
"I'm fine." I looked away; my heart was starting to race. He held his hand out but I was afraid of that hand.
I already knew the fate of this hand. I can not grab this hand; I have to avoid this hand at all costs. I put both my hands on the ground and pushed myself up off the ground. The rain was heavier at that moment than it had ever been in my entire life. I looked into his face. It was hard to see but I could tell he was quite handsome. It looked like he had black hair but it could be dark brown, it was hard to see with the water beating off my head. I bowed a little "Sorry." I walked to the left to pass him; I could feel his gaze still on me. Our hands brushed just slightly as I passed him by. My body flushed with warmth, I grabbed my hand and ran the rest of the way to the hotel. I could not see this man again, this man was our death or I was his death. Both didn't bode well for either of us.
All I could feel for the rest of the walk to the hotel was lightning in my veins, that man had power over me. I could feel it. If I had stayed there, I probably would have given him myself right there in that little mini ocean of water. I could feel his warm hands slide up my shirt and touch my breast, rolling my n****e in his fingers. I could feel like it had been done before, like I had been with him forever. "Oh my god, stop it brain!" my cheeks heated up.
I ran through the doors of the hotel and walked to the counter, "Hi, I have a reservation." I said breathless, the woman smiled and nodded "Credit card and name please." I passed her my card and turned towards the door. He did not follow me, thank god! " Room 1250, take the blue elevator to the 12th floor, then hang a right. " I nodded "Thank you." the lady at the counter smiled and handed me two cards. "This is your door key, if you have any trouble come back and will help you out, is there anything else I can do for you tonight?" I shook my head "Nope thanks." I rushed to the elevator and pressed the button until the doors opened, I walked in and pressed 12 repeatedly until the doors began to close. A hand shot in, my heart picked up speed, an older man and a couple of kids jumped on the elevator. The kids smiled at me. I smiled back.
As I lifted my head to watch the doors close, the man from the rain was standing on the other side of the hall by the red elevators looking straight at me. My cheeks heated, I looked at the floor immediately. He was the most handsome man I had ever laid eyes on. How could anyone be so beautiful? Why did the gods put a man like him on this earth? He would make any woman weak in the knees.
