Chapter 5: Signed, Sealed, Delivered
‘Twas the night before Christmas. The falling snow sparkled in the moonlight as it sprinkled everything it touched. The roaring fire cracked and popped as the timber collapsed with the blazing heat, filling the lounge with that wonderful, unique smell. Comforting warmth filled the room as random shadows danced against the walls from the flickering flames; the deep orange and glowing yellow hues burned bright.
Chloe topped up her creamy, potent, homemade eggnog and turned the music up. It was that song from Bridget Jones, when she punched and kicked the air, embracing being “all by herself.” There was something symbolic in that, and so she sang along louder, inspired to mimic those iconic moves. Nailed it.
