She imagined the buzz of the city in her brain. Yes, this was what she wanted. Headed north, she’d eventually find what she was looking for. It might have to be a job, if she planned to get very far. No money… maybe ten dollars in her purse. She’d been through that before. And a job would do just fine now, anything that paid her cash. Anything but Hector’s Pandora’s box of evil, pain and slavery. Anything to ease the terrific s****l ache she carried with her, that somewhere along the way she’d lose, she would have to lose it if this new scheme was ever going to work.
