Chapter Two - Mike

"What the hell?!" I couldn't help but jump out of my skin. The way the doors rattled as they slammed shut scared the s**t out of me. I had to calm my breathing. Can't let Becky see that this place freaks me out. If she knew what I did she would lose her s**t. Calm down. "Baby, you alright?" I pulled her closer towards me. "Yeah, that was strange wasn't it?" her voice fell slightly as though she were closing in on herself. "It was probably just the wind," I said, it couldn't be the wind but who are we kidding here, there was no other logical explanation and I need for this to work. "I don't know. Wouldn't the wind have blown the doors open and not closed?" Her eyes met mine for the first time since we entered this place. She is such an astute woman. How can I convince her there is nothing to worry about when I am on the verge of shitting my pants? "You know these old houses, they have funky drafts and what not. It's no big deal," I held my breath during that entire speech. A part of me was afraid she would see right through my bullshit. "Yeah...maybe...it's just..." I stopped her with a kiss. If there is anything I know about this woman is that I can end any discussion with a little tender love and affection. "Mmmmm" she moaned into my mouth. Yes, this was good. I began to run my hands down her hands and rested them on those sexy hips of hers. "God, you are sexy," I said huskily. I bit down slightly on her lip. I love the sound she makes when I do that. "Mmmm...behave you, I'm still freaked out," I couldn't help but smile at that. This woman drives me insane. I always want to be with her, besides her, inside of her. I leaned into the kiss deeper and began to lower my hands down towards her ass and I hoisted her up. She quickly wrapped her legs around my waist and I know she could feel my erection under my thin jeans. I was getting hard real fast and that was surprising given how terrible this place looked on the inside. "I love you so much," I whispered into her ear and out of the corner of my eye, I thought I saw a woman. "Who's there?" I called out to the mysterious woman but no one replied. "What's wrong, babe?" she asked me confused as I stood there dumbfounded with her legs still wrapped around me. I shook myself out of my stupor and set her back down. "Nothing, let me grab us something to drink. I will run to the car and pick up the supplies. You wait for her for me OK?" "No, I don't want to stay here by myself. This place freaks me out," she pouted. Too cute. "You'll be fine. It will only be for a minute," I said this while resting my forehead on hers. I don't remember when I started doing that but I can't help but rest my head on hers. It feels like coming home. I gently kiss her lips in an attempt to reassure her. "I won't be long I promise," "You promise, promise?" "I promise, promise," I said as I rested my hand on my heart. She didn't know this but my heart was racing a thousand miles a minute. I know that it was just a woman but it wasn't just a woman. That woman just appeared out of nowhere and vanished. Either I was losing my mind or there was something very wrong with this place. Either way, I needed to get the hell out of this house and take a minute to breathe before I step back foot in here. Maybe I should have just taken her with me but I knew deep down, this was my baggage. It was the secret I was keeping that had me so stressed out. Bringing her out to the car wasn't going to ease my guilty conscience. No, she was going to be fine. "Be quick," she spat and a sly smile spread across her lips. I knew she was pleased with me and that made my d**k so hard and my heart so happy. "God, I love you woman," I said as I walked away towards the door. The double door that would haunt my dreams for the rest of my life. As I exited the door the air got easier to breathe. I was right, it was the guilt. Damn. I walked over to the car and began to unpack it. "This should be everything that we need for tonight," I said out loud to no one. "Mmmmm...." a voice spoke off in the distance. "Hello?" I called out. "Who's there?" I think it is safe to say that I was starting to get the feeling that someone was here and trying to f**k with me. I was starting to get pissed off because it has been a long night and I just wanted to get settled and f**k my girl. Was that too much to ask? "I said, who's there?" this time I spoke with more force. I wanted this person to understand that I wasn't some coward that was going to cower in the corner or run back home because they set out some traps to make it seem like this place is unlivable. Whoever this was had another thing coming. "I am warning you, stay away from my family," I felt a chill run through my spine that reached deep into my bones. This evening was getting the better of me. I quickly picked up the baggage and ran towards the front doors. They were wide open. "I thought I closed these behind me?" I said out loud. It was a bad habit that I was working on. Becky didn't mind because as she would say "I get a peek into your mind this way," heh. I think that's what I love about her. Unfortunately for me, when I walked through the threshold, the doors slam behind me and I see Becky unconscious off in the distance laying on the floor. "Becky!" I said, as I dropped the bags and took off running.
